Malalai overcame immense personal challenges when she immigrated to Canada from Afghanistan in 2006. Her journey has been one of resilience, determination, and unwavering ambition. Despite facing challenges, including a marriage at a young age and the subsequent journey to rebuild her life, she has emerged more determined than ever.

Malalai is now the founder of an Afghani-Canadian media network and an operations manager in the aerospace industry, and has been dedicated to using her platform to create opportunities for others. She is ready to continue making a difference through public service and ensure Dufferin Caledon has a strong voice in Ottawa.
